PullRite's Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policy sets the lowest price our products can be advertised online. It applies to eCommerce retailers and keeps the playing field level, so a dealer who invests in sales, service, and installation training isn't undercut by a website that does none of that. This page explains what the policy covers, who it affects, and how to become an authorized eCommerce retailer.
What MAP Means
MAP stands for Minimum Advertised Price. It's the floor for the price a retailer can advertise on a PullRite product. It does not dictate the price you actually sell for at checkout, and it does not set the price a customer pays after talking to a salesperson. It governs the number you publish to the world.
The policy is narrow on purpose. The product restrictions are short, and they target online-only sellers rather than the brick-and-mortar and traditional retail partners we've worked with for decades.
Why We Have This Policy
PullRite has been building towing products in America since 1974. Our hitches get sold, fitted, and serviced by people who know them. SuperGlide, Super 5th, SuperLite, and SuperRail aren't impulse buys off a shelf. They get matched to a truck and a bed, installed correctly, and stood behind.
That work costs money. A retailer who staffs a service department and sends people to installation training carries real overhead. A bare-bones website that just drop-ships a box carries almost none. Without a price floor, the website wins on advertised price every time, and the retailers who actually support the product lose the sale.
The MAP policy fixes that. It rewards every retailer who invests in sales, service, and installation training on PullRite products by making sure nobody can advertise their way past that investment.
Who It Affects
This policy is aimed at non-brick-and-mortar, online-only retailers.
- Traditional retail partners we already work with are not the target. The policy is not meant to disrupt those relationships.
- Online sellers who rely on our distributors to drop-ship to the end customer are also accommodated, as long as they're authorized.
- eCommerce retailers who advertise PullRite products online are the focus, and they need to be registered to participate.
Becoming an Authorized eCommerce Retailer
If you want to advertise and sell PullRite products online, you sign up as an authorized eCommerce retailer and agree to the terms of the MAP policy. Registration matters for one practical reason: only authorized, registered eCommerce retailers can submit for drop shipments from our distributors. If you're not registered, the distributors won't ship on your behalf.
Before you sign up, read the policy and the supporting documents so you understand the terms you're agreeing to. The full program covers:
- The MAP policy itself and its product restrictions
- A MAP FAQ that answers common questions
- Current MAP pricing for PullRite products
